Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A one-time trumpet prodigy whose skills with jazz and classical music would later establish him as one of the true legends of his generation, Wynton Marsalis arrived on the scene in 1982 to launch a jazz revival that eventually found him the first jazz musician ever to be awarded a Pulitzer Prize. For this performance, Marsalis and his skilled Septet use the structure of an African-American church service to explore the remarkable connection between music and worship. With songs that include "The Lord's Prayer", "In the Sweet Embrace of Life", "Holy Ghost", and "Pot Blessed Dinner", this inspired performance truly offers a unique and uplifting listening experience.
