This series from the History Channel explores some of the most dangerous and deadly natural disasters of all time, including this episode on how fog can be a deadly act of nature. Fog has contributed to some of the most famous disasters throughout history. From the B-24 bomber crashing into the 79th floor of the Empire State Building back in 1945 to the sinking of the Andrea Doria, fog has caused many deaths and accidents. There is also the case of the Southern Pacific train that fell off a bridge into a Louisiana swamp because of low visibility in the fog. There are interviews with meteorologists who talk about how an intense fog can leave a pilot, a train engineer, or a ship captain with little or no visibility.
