Synopsis by C. Dwayne Smith
Whether it is the ironclad dependability or the romance of the journey, trains have fascinated many people for many years. This documentary from National Geographic is a tribute to those locomotives that people played with as children, chased as teenagers, and rode as adult commuters. The viewer goes club car as the journey winds itself from a nostalgic black-and-white station through to the high-speed bullets that now defy the laws of physics. Highlights include a ticket aboard the famous Orient Express and an interview with Steamboat, a rambling hobo who has spent a lifetime riding a boxcar.
