Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Promulgated as a "substitute Olympics" for those who find track and field, swimming, weightlifting, cycling and all of the other standard Olympic games too tame and boring, the World Extreme Games caters to hard-core adrenaline junkies with such thrillfests as dirt biking, sky surfing, mountain boarding and jet-skiing. Melbourne, Australia featured the first round of games in 2000; the six-volume World Extreme Games series of home video releases sports six-hour coverage of these events, with one hour of footage in each volume. Volume six includes the Kite Surfing, Freestyle MotoX, Street Skate and BMX Dirt Jump events.
