Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Winnifred Greenwood plays the loving niece of an irascible old farmer. Having suffered for years at the hands of her cruel uncle, Greenwood accepts the marriage proposal of a handsome stranger, little suspecting that he merely covets the uncle's hidden fortune. At the first opportunity, Greenwood's new husband dumps her for another woman, forcing the heroine and her young son to fend for themselves. At last finding happiness as the wife of an honest stockbroker (Edward Coxen), Greenwood is dismayed to learn that Husband Number Two has hired Husband Number One as his chauffeur. Not wishing to divulge the fact that she was previously married, Greenwood is forced to pay hush money to her first husband. She finally reveals the truth when Husband #2 is falsely accused of the murder of Husband #1 -- and this, evidently, is the "daring" alluded to in the film's title.
