Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The Woman Pays both figuratively and literally in this Metro five-reeler. Though long married, Beth (Valli Valli) and Phillip (Edward Brennan) are no longer in love with one another, due to a disfiguring scar -- caused by a bolt of lightning -- on Beth's right cheek. Unable to bear Beth's loss of beauty, Phillip walks out on her, but not before "borrowing" $30,000 from his wife's trust fund to square his enormous debts. Telling herself that she is partly responsible for the theft because of her profligate spending, Beth manages to forgive her husband's transgressions. Eventually, he returns to her, admits that he's been a fool and declares that he still loves her, scar and all. Conveniently forgetting that Phillip is in hock to her to the tune of 30 grand, Beth welcomes him back with open arms.
