Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although she is not rich, Amy Terrell (Elaine Hammerstein) is able to move about in society fairly easily. Mrs. Van Trant (Ida Darling) is having a house party; Amy is one of the guests and so is Andrew Masters (Jere Austin), a man both wealthy and ruthless, who believes in winning the game of business any way he can. He is also a misogynist who believes that the only worthwhile woman is one who is old fashioned and unsophisticated. Mrs. Van Trant convinces Amy to play at being a homespun type of girl just to put one over on Masters. As a result, he winds up falling in love with her. But when he finds out that he's been tricked, he explodes. In the midst of this romantic seesaw is a scandal involving an affair between their hostess and Captain Davenport (Louis Broughton). Mrs. Van Trant convinces her gossipy guests that it's Amy who is having the affair, but the Captain, an honorable sort, vindicates the innocent girl. Masters finally comes to realize that while Amy may not be the demure little thing she pretended to be, she's still a nice girl, and they wind up together.
