Synopsis by Alice Day

Women have traditionally been excluded from the same educational opportunities as men, and in Women: A True Story: The Need to Know, the discussion centers on the attitudes of the world's religions towards women. The submissive woman whose life is focused on home and children is admired, and in some religions, speaking out about this submission can mean execution. Susan Sarandon hosts this look at a male-dominated society, that shows how women have never been given the chance to be intellectual equals.
