Spanish director Raimon Masllorens's defiantly unsentimental and understated slice-of-life drama Without You (akaSin Ti) observes the day-to-day events that befall a wife and mother of two, following an unanticipated (and seemingly indefinite) spate of blindness. Ana Fernandez stars as Lucia, an artist and homemaker whose life turns a dark corner when she slips in the shower and injures herself, completely losing her eyesight from the accident. Crippled by grief, Lucia sinks into a mire of self-pity. Meanwhile, instead of demonstrating sympathy, Lucia's daughter, Alba (Maria Salas), grows indignant over her mother's sudden weakness and dependency. Alicia Luna and Pau Garsaball co-authored the script; Pep Menné co-stars as Lucia's husband, Toni.
