Now that Vinnie's (Ken Wahl) undercover assignment in Washington DC is over, Wiseguy briefly shifts focus to the difficult relationship between Vinnie's OCB boss Frank McPike (Jonathan Banks) and Frank's cantankerous father Mike (John Kellogg). Having been expelled from his retirement home for his obstreperous behavior, Mike refuses to leave until he can be convinced that Frank has reconciled with his estranged wife Jenny (Elizabeth Ruscio, taking over in a role previously essayed by Jessica Harper). As Frank and Jenny go through an elaborate charade for Mike's benefit, the old man embarks upon a midnight rendezvous with his current "girl friend".
