Willie Nelson is one of the best and most individual songwriters and vocalists in country music, and Leon Russell is a musician and arranger who has been a first-call session man and producer even longer than he's been a respected bandleader. When Russell briefly joined Nelson's band in 1979 to fill in for Willie's pianist (and sister) Bobbie Nelson, the two struck up a fast friendship, and they ended up recording a hit album together, a set of classic country tunes called One for the Road. Willie Nelson & Leon Russell: One for the Road is a concert video recorded in 1979 while Nelson and Russell were on the road promoting their album.
