Synopsis by Dan Pavlides

A trio of women gather on Christmas Eve and worry about the fate of the men in their lives. Paulina (Zofla Mrozowska) is a grandmother who worries about her daughter Ania (Ewe Blaszczyk) whose husband Witek, a member of the outlawed Solidarity union, has not been seen for ten days. Maria (Barbara Wrzesinska) is Witek's mother who is nearly hysterical over her son's absence. While the anguished women have an uneasy dinner, they are visited by a priest, Ania's parents, and one of Witek's friends who is also in hiding. Despite the visits, all three women have no reprieve of their anxiety over the still-missing Witek.
