Synopsis by Hal Erickson

A Zane Grey short story was the source for the Australian seafaring drama White Death. Zane Grey himself appears in this film (through the courtesy of his business manager Edward Bowen, who also directed), which was based on the author's real-life experiences while fishing in the Great Barrier Reef. The film is sorely lacking in entertainment value, though Australian stage star Alfred Frith does his best to supply comedy relief. Good location photography is the film's most tangible asset. White Death is best regarded as a curio, for those interested in seeing the prolific Zane Grey in the flesh.
