Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This historical documentary rests on the premise that the tragic events that befell American soldiers on December 7, 1941 have often suffered from cinematic misrepresentation. To set the record straight, Dr. Donald Goldstein - author of the 2001 volume At Dawn We Slept: The Untold Story of Pearl Harbor - travels to the island of Oahu, Hawaii to formally investigate the details of the attack itself and the shot that sank the seemingly invincible U.S.S. Arizona. In relaying its story, the program makes fervent use of survivor interviews and CG animations, thus giving viewers a much clearer and thorough understanding of what exactly occurred.
