Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Jimmie Jones (a miscast Bryant Washburn) is carting some bottles of liquor to Bobbie Brown (J. Maurice Foster), but they get stolen in transit. The two men try to locate some whiskey but Jones is collared by the local sheriff. He manages to get away and, through an odd series of events, winds up posing as Anthony Goodley, who is scheduled to lecture on the evils of tobacco. Goodley has also been carrying on a romantic correspondence with a wealthy old maid, which causes trouble for Jones, who has just fallen in love with Cissy Smith (Margaret Loomis). With the help of some props and fake sideburns, Jones goes ahead with the lecture, which is disrupted by some of the town roughs. He escapes through a window and is pursued by the mob. Meanwhile, the real Goodley (Frank Jonasson) has arrived, but is being detained by Brown. Cissy helps Goodley escape, and the mob converges on him instead of Jones. It turns out that Goodley is also an impostor, but this matters not one bit to Jones, who rides off with Cissy.
