Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Plenty happens to Father in this adaptation of Mary Roberts Rinehart's novel. Frank Daniels plays William Bradbury, a henpecked professor who secretly writes a musical comedy. When the show becomes a hit, papa gets innocently mixed up with a bevy of beauteous chorus girls. This experience has a positive, enervating effect on the formerly meek Bradbury, who heads home immediately to save his daughter Frederica (Adele Kelly) from a forced marriage engineered by the social-climbing Mrs. Bradbury (Bernice Berner). What Happened to Father? was remade by Warner Bros. in 1927, with Warner Oland as the worm-turning protagonist.
