Synopsis by Tom Vick
Sixth-generation Chinese director Zhang Ming's second feature is a suspense film set along the banks of the Yangzhe River. A group of young Beijing urbanites head out on a weekend near the small town where two of them grew up. There they encounter an old friend from school who is now a police officer and decides to tag along with the group. Their idyllic weekend is interrupted by the discovery of a mannequin floating in the river with a note attached to it simply saying, "love you til death." This spooky discovery sets off a series of mysterious events that strain the relationships in the group, as each of them becomes suspicious about who may have delivered the note, and what it could mean.
