Synopsis by Cara Saposnik
Three non-traditional families are the focus of this video. By examining what life is really like for each of these families, questions about identity, gender roles, and parenting are addressed. One family, which consists of two gay fathers and a 16-year-old foster son, is trying to create a secure environment so that the son does not go further down the road to delinquency. In another example, two adolescent girls explain how they learned to accept their father's homosexuality. This documentary is a sensitive portrait of the gay families.
