In this documentary, television lovers are offered a nostalgic reflection on Creature Features - one of the most popular TV shows ever to air in the San Francisco Bay Area. From January 1971 through September 1984, Creature Features ranked among the most watched shows in the Bay Area according to Neilson ratings. For eight years, former television advertising writer Bob Wilkins sat in the studios of KTVU Channel 2 in Oakland, California on Saturday evenings hosting some of the most memorable horror films ever produced. When Wilkins' run ended, San Francisco Chronicle entertainment writer John Stanley carried the torch for another six years. Whether it was the love of Wilkins' droll commentary, Stanley's celebrity interviews and satirical mini-movies, or simply the movies that kept viewers coming back, one would be hard pressed to find a child of that era who was raised in that region that didn't feel a nostalgic twinge every time that familiar title came up on the screen. Here, interviews with both Creature Feature hosts, as well as other key contributors, combine with classic clips to take viewers on a welcomed trip down memory lane.
