Synopsis by Alice Day
Four hundred years of world history are covered in these programs from England's University of Warwick History Department. Scholars and professors lead the discussions concerning some of the most important events of this time period, including two world wars. In Warwick History: Stalin -- Terror and Transformation, Josef Stalin's life and actions are examined. His purges terrorized the population, and no one was exempt, not even friends and relatives. The unimaginable losses suffered by Russia during the battle of Stalingrad and the siege of Leningrad are also discussed.
