Synopsis by Bruce Eder
Wandering Jew is the story of the birth of modern Zionism and the life of its founder, Theodor Herzl, told as a fantasy in the manner of D.W. Griffith's Intolerance and other movies of that sort. The movie takes the form of a chronicle of the wrongs, sufferings, and dispersals of the Jewish people through the ages, intercut with dramatized representations from Herzl's life, interweaving the two narrative chains. Largely unknown and mostly forgotten, the movie was re-released on VHS by Grapevine Video in the mid-'90s.
