Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A seven-year-old boy from a typical middle-class suburb dreams of growing up to become just like his idol Vincent Price in this playfully macabre, black-and-white short from director Tim Burton. Vincent Malloy isn't like the other children of the neighborhood. While his classmates are frolicking happily in the sunshine, Vincent is locked away in his darkened room reading the writings of Edgar Allan Poe and fantasizing about dipping his portly aunt in a boiling vat of wax. Despite his morbid exterior, Vincent is a nice boy, though his fascination with the eerie world of fantasy may get the best of him in the end. Narrated by Price himself and shot in the expressionistic style that laid the groundwork for such future classics as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Vincent would prove the first of many collaborations between director Burton and producer/production designer/art director Rick Heinrichs.
