Synopsis by Alice Day
Many attractions are available to the traveler in California, where the weather is generally temperate and the natural scenic wonders are abundant. The diversity of features will offer something to everyone, as the landscape changes from Death Valley's desolation to the pounding surf at Malibu or Big Sur. Skiing is a popular sport in the Sierra mountain ranges, and Hollywood has studios to tour and famous places to photograph. In San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge is frequently shrouded in a picturesque fog, while a drive to the north takes the traveler to the Napa Valley and its many wineries.
