A Mayan miner trapped in the subterranean Yucatan cave system comes into contact with a strange spirit that guides him through the darkness while offering strange visions of the future in a startlingly original tale from filmmaker Francicso Athié. A tragedy on the surface has found Juan thrust into a disorienting world of rock from which he may never emerge. Juan is not alone though, because deep in the cave dwells a blue spirit known only as Vera. With only the attenuated spirit to serve as his guide through the strange and unforgiving underground maze, Juan is transported into the realm of Mayan mysticism as Vera presents him with a compelling series of visions that may show exactly what lies in store for all of humankind.
