In a combined fiction and documentary style, director Monique Rutler looks at attitudes toward aging in the elderly population of the down-and-out in Lisbon. In one of two stories, an old man survives by selling rags, until one day he is hit by a car and has to be taken to a hospital. Once there, his response to the medical treatment is quite different than his response to the way he is treated. In the other story, an older couple meet in the park and romance blossoms.
