Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Filmgoers in Finland seemed to favor sentimental romantic dramas over all other genres in the postwar years, so it's no surprise that Vain Sinulle was a hit. The film stars Helena Kara, one of Scandinavia most popular actresses. The story is one of those "persevering through the years" affairs so beloved of such Hollywood film personalities as Bette Davis and Barbara Stanwyck. Its box-office success turned out to be regional; the film fared poorly in the U.S., where tearjerkers were a dime a dozen. For the record, the title translates as Only for You.
