Hungarian filmmaker György Szomjas' Vagabond has a central character for whom music gives life meaning. Karesz (Peter Simon) is a juvenile delinquent who has engaged in a series of break-ins. Zsofi (Kata Horvath), an attractive young girl on whom he has a crush, gets Karesz to go into a folk music club, where he is drawn to what he hears. Although he wants to abandon his friends to pursue his love of music, Karesz agrees to a final burglary. But the intended victim makes the situation more dangerous for Karesz.
