Synopsis by Caroline Griswold
Amid war in 1971, Indian woman Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) is married off to Iqbal Syed (Vicky Kaushal) and his Pakistani family to be a spy for her country. With no formal intelligence training, she is in a unique position to play both sides: both her Indian family and her new Pakistani connection. Jaideep Ahlawat, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Soni Razdan also star. This film adaptation of “Calling Sehmat” by Harinder Sikka is directed by Meghna Gulzar.
