A man who finds love in an unexpected place discovers not everyone approves of his new partner in this drama. Vinayak lives and works in rural India as a caretaker in a national forest. Vinayak loves his work, but it afford him little contact with others, and he often wishes for a soul mate. One night, Vinayak comes home to discover a strange woman hiding in his backyard; she seems disturbed, but doesn't appear dangerous, and he tries to help her by leaving a meal for her. The woman returns the next evening, and once again he feeds her, soon allowing her to sleep near his house. As Vinayak and the strange woman come to know and trust one another, they become friends as then lovers as she moves into his home. Vinayak is happy with his new companion despite her eccentricities, but many of his neighbors are deeply superstitious, and they're deeply wary of his involvement with a perceived madwoman.
