Inspired by Monteverdi's fourth book of madrigals, director John LaBouchardiere's musical romantic drama follows six couples as their once vibrant love withers and dies in the setting of an upscale restaurant. As each of the couples set down for the dinner, secrets from the past emerge to forever alter the course of the future. Devastating revelations soon give way to seething anger and deep-rooted desire for reconciliation as other diners look on transfixed by the events unfolding before their very eyes. Through flashbacks the viewer witnesses the downfall of each couple before all involved are forced to ponder the prospect of a dark and loveless future.
