Synopsis by Nicole Gagne
This romantic drama of embattled revolutionaries set in a nameless Baltic country was the second film (and first talkie) of Swedish writer/director Alf Sjöberg. Wanda (Aino Taube) delivers weapons illegally sold by Max (Anders Henrikson). Even though she is also an informant for the police, Wanda falls in love with the revolutionary John (Åke Ohberg) and secretly gives him arms for free. When Max learns of her generosity, he leads the police to the radicals' headquarters, and John's friends are arrested. John is able to lead revolutionary reinforcements to take over the town, but he cannot save Wanda from Max, who guns her down.
