Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Set in the 1930s in Romania, this drama by director Sinisa Ivetici is about the struggles of a young schoolteacher (Lazar Vrabie) to survive the difficult times and personal adverse fortune. The depression is in full spate and the teacher has been unemployed for awhile. As he looks to improve his own situation he learns a lot about society in general and the problems of others. At the same time, he has an invalid son he must care for and among other goals, he wants to find the money to buy his son a ball.
