Claire is a waitress in Minneapolis. Before that, she was just a country girl. She finds romance for a while with a guy named Aldo, who later moves to New York. After that, she forms a relationship with an easygoing guitar-pickin' guy who is also the restaurant's fry cook. When Aldo comes back to visit, "the usual" becomes a particularly difficult order to fill, especially when the two men in her life get into a conflict over her.
