This program is the third episode in a series that chronicles the war between the United States and Mexico from 1846 to 1848. The dispute centered over the land that has since become the great state of Texas. In this episode, President Polk makes plans for the decisive battle that turned the tide in favor of the forces to the North of the territory. The United States was prepared to attack the capital of Mexico if necessary to win the war.
