Synopsis by Rovi
Set in Poland in 1990, this drama from director Tomasz Wasilewski tells the story of four women who are eager to gain some semblance of control over their lives when the communist system falls apart. Although the downfall of communism brings optimism to Poland in a general sense, the film explores how the arrival of a democratic system of government will benefit women, if it all. Wasilewski's screenplay earned the Silver Bear for best script at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
