Synopsis by Alice Day

Environmental concerns in Australia include the disappearance of species of both plants and animals, and the degeneration of the country's soil. As natural conditions of weathering and erosion deplete the soil, there have not been restorative practices in place to counteract the negative impacts. In Unique Continent - Australian Environmental Studies: Agricultural Side Effects, efforts to prevent further damage are assessed, and questions regarding pesticide use are considered. This series examines the past and present of this continent, and also looks at what the future might hold in terms of its natural resources.
