Synopsis by Alice Day
This program explores the increasing concerns regarding the natural resources of Australia, which are in danger of depletion unless changes are made. Australia is extremely dry with deserts taking up much of its terrain, and its soil has never been particularly fertile for agricultural purposes. As time has passed, its air, water, soil, and forest areas have shown ominous signs of quality degradation. With a rising populace, environmental safeguards must be put in motion in order to improve these areas of concern, as shown in Unique Continent - Australian Environmental Studies: A Place for People.
