Tyler Florence -- master chef, restauranteur, world traveler, author, and creator of the popular cable cooking series Food 911 -- was the center of attention on this half-hour weekly, inspired by one of his own books. The individual episodes dealt with Florence's "ultimate" recipes for familiar and favorite foods. In other words, if you were capable of preparing only one dish in the kitchen, Florence would offer you an infinite number of tasty variations on that dish, drawn from around the world in the form of a "visual cookbook." After witnessing this series, the viewer was not likely ever to see such traditionalist dinners as meat loaf, fried chicken, and veal parmigiana in the same light again. Tyler's Ultimate joined the Food Network lineup on May 6, 2006.
