London-born Joseph Mallord William Turner is one of the best-loved English landscape artists. His flair for fusing geography with a region's history and vision captivated the art world in the early 1800s. For his unique romantic style, Turner became known as the "painter of light." On a visit to Switzerland and France early in the century, the artist produced than 400 sketches of the beautiful mountains and countryside. The film Turner in Switzerland takes viewers to the enchanting locations where the painter found inspiration for his well-loved works featuring Swiss landscapes.
