Synopsis by Hal Erickson

There were no question-and-answer sessions in the British game show Trust Me. Two teams of contestants, made up of wildly diverse "types," were placed in separate soundproof booths without ever having been introduced to each other. Host Nicholas Bateman hopped from one booth to the other, leaking vital information about one team to the members of the other team. The players won or lost on the basis of their "trust" in the opposite team, based upon the often misleading information provided by the puckish host. The game was divided into several rounds, including "The Honesty Test," "Open Mike," and "Character Reference." At the end of the show, one team had to determine whether or not the other was worthy of its trust without even knowing which team had scored the most points. Trust Me debuted over Britain's Channel 4 on November 4, 2000.
