Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Sue Wilde (Nell Craig) grows sick of the self-righteousness of her father (John Cossar), so she leaves home and travels to New York's Greenwich Village, where she becomes an actress. Jacob Zanin (Ernest Maupain) spouts Bohemian values, but in reality he's in search of a profit, just like everybody else. Two men are in love with Sue -- Peter Mann, a playwright (Sydney Ainsworth) and Henry Bates, a theater critic (Richard Travers). When Mann finds out that Sue doesn't love him, he reveals to the press that her father is an embezzler, and Mr. Wilde kills himself. After this tragedy, Sue comes to realize that Zanin's ideals are false, and she gives up her career to marry Bates. This Essanay five-reel feature was based on a Cosmopolitan magazine story by Samuel Merwin.
