A tragic hit-and-run accident yields severe repercussions for the driver, the victim, and the witness in this carefully layered drama from France. Al is poised to marry his boss' daughter and get a big promotion when he goes on a joyride with friends, and runs over a man on the street. Terrified, he speeds away from the scene without realizing Juliette has seen everything from her balcony. The following day, when Al slyly inquires about the victim's status at a local hospital, Juliette confronts him. The man Al hit was an illegal immigrant from Moldavia, and now his family is suffering. As Juliette attempts to convince Al to take responsibility for his actions, she begins to realize that his careless actions aren't necessarily a reflection of his true personality.
