In the three-part program Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires, host and computer industry observer Robert X. Cringely follows the remarkable careers of the men responsible for the birth of the personal computer revolution, including Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Paul Allen, and Steve Wozniak. These men changed the way America and the world looked at computing, and along the way established new standards for brutality in business competition. This segment examines the struggle between Jobs and Gates for control of personal computing. The program shows the vicious competition that set these one-time friends at each other's throats.
