Synopsis by Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
Set in Texas, this true-life story follows the plight of Cameron Todd Willingham (Jack O’Connell), a penniless ex-criminal and father who is accused of murdering his three children by arson in 1992. Arrested and sentenced to death, Willingham’s only ally is Elizabeth Gilbert (Laura Dern), a single mom from Houston who fights endlessly for his cause, throughout his imprisonment. Gilbert tries her best to take on the state to reveal evidence to support Willingham's innocence, but she may be up against an unbeatable enemy as well as the ticking clock. Written by Geoffrey Fletcher.
