Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Treat 'Em Rough was a vehicle for Fox's up-and-coming cowboy hero Tom Mix. The star was cast as Ned Ferguson, a sure-shot frontiersman with a nose for trouble. The villains make it appear as though Ned is a wanted outlaw, which effectively puts him on the outs with heroine Mary Radford (Jane Novak). But Ned isn't about to be defeated by such no-good varmints as chief heavy Leviatt (Val C. LeMoyne), and after a kaleidoscopic series of daring escapes and near-misses, he rides down his accusers and kills or maims every one of them. So astonished was the trade magazine Variety by Tom Mix's miraculous physical prowess that it was suggested that some of the film's stunts were accomplished by trick photography.
