Travels in Europe : Salzburg and the Lakes District (1995)

Synopsis by Hal Erickson
It's off to The Sound of Music country in this 30th episode of Rick Steves' popular PBS travel series. Echoes of Mozart and the Von Trapp family are pleasantly invoked as Rick goes through picturesque Salzburg, with quality time spent at the town's medieval Hohensalzburg forest. Then he journeys to the lake community of Salzkammergut for an exploratory visit to some underground lakes and salt mines (a holdover from the Roman Empire days). And, of course, the trip would not be complete without a few tasty samples of the Austrian cuisine.
