Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Describing Burgundy as "profound France," host Rick Steves embarks upon a tour of the district in the company of his friend Steve Smith, a transplanted American. Beginning at the quaint French inn which Smith calls home, the two travelers sample escargot, wines from the Cote D'Or, and a concert of Gregorian chants. Journeying via fast-moving trains and languid canals, Rick manages to locate vestiges of the 100 Years War which figured so significantly in Burgundian history. This 21st episode of Travels in Europe With Rick Steves includes advice on how to order dinner with but a few words of French at one's disposal.
