Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Episode 37 of Travels in Europe With Rick Steves finds the host arriving on the west coast of Turkey (aka Anatolia). A short stop at the cruise port of Kusadasi is followed by a longer visit to Ephesus, birthplace of the Virgin Mary, where Rick and the viewers retrace the steps of the Apostle Paul. Then he pauses at such attractions as the mineral springs of Parmakule and the ancient community Aphrodisias, legendary home of the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty. And there's time aplenty to enjoy a lively performance from the whirling dervishes of Konya.
