The desire for motherhood pushes a pair of estranged sisters into a dark struggle that tears at the very fabric of their family. It's been nearly a decade since sisters Natalia and Elena have seen each other. Reconnecting at Natalia's luxurious chalet, they begin catching up on the past when Natalia reveals to her sister that she and her husband are expecting. When Elena, too, becomes pregnant, the announcement is a call for celebration. But things quickly turn grim when Elena suffers a miscarriage later that night, and decides to hide her secret from the rest of her family. When further attempts to get pregnant again fail repeatedly, Elena sinks into a psychotic depression, and reasons that her only hope for ever becoming a mother is to steal her sister's baby.
