In a appalling lapse of professionalism, child psychologist Adam Litowski (Dwight Schultz) allows a traumatic incident from his own past to influence his treatment of Melissa Houghton (Mike Boorem), a young girl who insists that she can hear angels singing. Adam has never been able to come to terms with the accidental death of his own daughter, and it is this that has soured his attitude on any expression of Faith. Though Monica (Roma Downey) is instrumental in helping Adam see the light, the real heroine of this episode is an enigmatic stranger named Clara, played by Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis).
